Miguel Linares is a primary care physician and health services researcher at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services. His research focuses on improving health of older adults through patient-centered approaches to digital health, health literacy, and healthcare communication. He is particularly interested in understanding how social determinants of health, language, and technology influence access to care and health outcomes within the safety net. His current work examines the use of electronic health record-based measures to identify older adults at risk for digital exclusion and inform scalable interventions to improve engagement with patient portals, telehealth, and other digital health tools. He collaborates closely with community stakeholders and patient advisory groups to ensure that research findings translate into practical healthcare solutions.
