National RCMAR - RCMAR/AD Meeting 2026
Calling ALL RCMAR - RCMAR/AD Sites
The RCMAR 2026 Annual Meeting will bring together members from all 17 centers across the country that comprise the RCMAR VI program. The meeting will highlight scientific advances and progress in RCMAR-supported social, behavioral, psychological, and economic research on aging, Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and AD-related dementias (ADRD), and health disparities among older adults, conducted by current and alumni RCMAR scientists. The meeting will also provide important opportunities for troubleshooting, brainstorming, networking, and collaboration across the RCMAR community, including scientists, mentors, program managers, and RCMAR directors and core leads. Holding the meeting at the National Institute on Aging’s (NIA) facilities will further afford opportunities to engage with NIA program officers, program analysts, training officers, grants management specialists, and senior leaders, and to learn more about the National Institutes of Health’s new scientific priorities and specific areas of interest at NIA.
Target Participants: Each of the 17 RCMARs is expected to be represented by a minimum of two RCMAR scientists and the PD/PI, as specified in the RCMAR VI funding opportunities (RFA-AG-23-025 and RFA-AG-23-026). Additional RCMAR scientists, as well as RCMAR alumni, faculty, and community leader partners are welcome to participate, budget permitting. Program managers and administrators are also encouraged to attend and would benefit from local and national RCMAR program networks.
We are striving to host an inclusive, accessible meeting that will enable all RCMAR community members to engage fully. Virtual participation is pending set up. We look forward to seeing representation from all sites in person for the full duration of the meeting listed below. Three opportunities for Scientsits and Alumni to present: 1) plenary presentations of completed works, 2) small group works in progress sessions, and 3) posters. We also request for RCMAR faculty to serve as discussants, moderators, and reviewers. A meeting of NIH-NIA program officers with scientists/alumni; a meeting for Program Directors with NIA RCMAR Liaison and Program Officers; and Administrators with NIA Grants Management Specialists are also being planned. Sites are responsible for settinig up their flights and lodging accordingly. More details including agenda, lodging recommendations in the area, and more will be provided to registrants.
