Bruce Ovbiagele, MD, MSc, MAS

Bruce Ovbiagele, MD, Professor and Chair of the Department of Neurology and Admiral Paul E. Pihl Endowed Chair of the Department of Neurosciences Medical University of South Carolina, received a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, West Africa, and is particularly interested in the field of secondary stroke prevention in minority elders.

2006-2007 Pilot Project, "Adaptation and Development in high-risk Hispanic Elderly patients of a Report card intervention to prevent vascular Events (ADHERE)." Dr. Ovbiagele's RCMAR/CHIME-funded project was one in which he developed a stroke patient report card intervention that contains important elements specific to enhancing stroke treatment adherence in elderly Spanish-speaking-only Hispanic stroke patients.
